What is Kindaimanna?

Established in 1977, Kindaimanna meaning ‘come and play,’ is an off-site Community Kindergarten for four year olds. It is one of 18 Community Kindergartens left operating in Western Australia and the only Community Kindergarten left in the South East Metro.

It is government funded and linked to Grovelands Primary School.

Classes consist of up to 20 students with a Teacher and an Education Assistant who are qualified, registered and appointed by the Department of Education.

At Kindaimanna, we have a very small school populatiom with only up to 20 students attending the school on any given day. Smaller groups allow the teaching staff to engage in more one-on-one face time with children to meet their needs to ensure everyone has a positive and engaging experience at kindy. It is an ideal place for those already going through early intervention, children who experience anxiety in large crowds or cannot concentrate behind desks for long periods. With that said, children of all levels and stages in development are welcome and will benefit greatly from our program.

As a stand-alone building, we are not physically connected to a primary school, meaning we can provide age-appropriate spaces, equipment and routines. This allows children to become confident, creative and happy learners. We encourage a lot of outdoor play in our large playground and provide a variety of activities in our newly renovated classrooms for children to choose from and learn at their own pace. It is the perfect environment to help gently transition children to adapt into a larger school setting.

We are surrounded by parkland away from the busy streets and have ample parking available for drop off and pick ups.

Running for over 40 years, we are experiencing second generations attending Kindaimanna. Families appreciate and value what our family and community orientated kindy has to offer.

“When we deny children play, we are denying them the right to understand the world.”
